Thank you for choosing Scentience. This Third Party Device Disclaimer Policy ("the Policy") explains how the Scentience App (“the App”) connects to and uses third party devices. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The Scentience App is designed to work in tandem with Scentience devices. The App pairs to a Scentience device via Bluetooth and processes olfaction data locally through a built-in Scent Vision Language Model. No internet connection is required to use the App. No data is stored outside of your device or transmitted to external databases or servers. Any data that is processed remains local to your device and the Scentience device. No data is shared with third parties even if their sensors are connected to the App.

1. The Scentience app may connect via Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) or serial communication to third-party olfaction devices. These devices are not manufactured, tested, certified, or endorsed by the developers of Scentience.
2. Use of third-party devices is at your own risk. The Scentience app functions solely as a data visualization tool and does not modify, control, or validate the performance, accuracy, or safety of any connected device.
3. The developers of Scentience make no warranties, express or implied, regarding any third-party device’s functionality, reliability, compatibility, safety, or fitness for a particular purpose. No guarantees are made that the app will function correctly with any specific third-party hardware.
4. By connecting a third-party device to the Scentience app, you agree that the developers are not responsible for:

6. Any inaccuracies, malfunctions, or failures of connected hardware.
7. Any personal injury, health effects, or other consequences resulting from the use of third-party devices.
8. If you are unsure about the suitability, calibration, or safety of a device, consult its manufacturer before use.

1. No Third-Party Access: We do not share your data with any third parties.
2. No External Data Transmission: The App does not transmit user data to external servers or third-party services, as no internet connection is required or used by the App.
3. No Commercialization of Your Data: We do not sell, trade, or otherwise monetize any user data. There is no mechanism for Scentience to access, store, or analyze your data outside of the device itself.

We may update this Third Party Device Disclaimer Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or regulatory requirements. When we do so, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy. Continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of those changes.
